Lorie received her first yoga certification in 2006 from BTS/Les Mills program. The therapeutic and rehabilitative benefits of yoga became necessary after a back injury.
Her subsequent training and completion of YogaFit’s 200hr training advanced her asana practice and knowledge in alignment, anatomy and pain management. Studying and drawing from the efficacy of various styles of yoga such as Hatha yoga, Restorative yoga and The MELT Method , Lorie focuses on enhancing flexibility, mobility and strength to the whole body with an emphasis on the back and core.
What is MELT Method?
The MELT Method is a simple self-treatment method that eliminates chronic pain, improves performance, and decreases the "stuck stress" caused by the repetitive postures and movements of everyday living. MELT was created by New York City manual therapist Sue Hitzmann, and it's now being taught worldwide to groups and individuals by hundreds of instructors trained by Hitzmann. Lorie trained directly with Sue and she's thrilled to be passing on this technique of self-care.
